So we can’t like a song unless we know who the lead singer of led zeppelin is? gotcha.
I dunno, I think the show helped me bond with my dad over music. I listen to his generation’s stuff much more now, and we jam out in the car together. I think if you stay away from the crazed people who attach themselves to something because they think it will make them look cool, you’ll be good. I mean, I’m allowed to have a new favorite band once I’ve discovered them, right? You learn about the band as you listen to the songs. Being a snob about your music isn’t cool.
Everything Heathyr said.
And I have this to add:
I was always the weird kid who didn’t really listen to the popular bands growing up. The Spice Girls, The Backstreet Boys, and all the like were never my thing. I could never bond with other kids over music, because the CDs I had in my CD-player were always The Police, Queen, AC/DC, Rush, etc. The reason for this is I’ve always looked up to my dad, and this was his music, so I’ve always been into it.But see, when people discover the music I’ve always listened to, instead of being resentful, I just embrace it. Because isn’t the important thing that people have discovered it?
Because isn’t the important thing that people have discovered it? Yes, just yes.
You haven’t been watching Supernatural since the Pilot episode. Does that make your love for Supernatural a false one? No. Embrace the exposure of this great music that Supernatural is giving to people who otherwise would not be hearing it.

In response to: http://deanskraken.tumblr.com/post/3105498785/can-you-imagine-how-shitty-the-show-would-be-if-it-were
I am hoping you are joking about this, but I am taking this on because it is close to my heart. I will defend this until the day I die. I can’t expect you (living in The UK) to understand what Eric Kripke means when he says: “There’s a real energy in the Midwest to miles and miles of flat farmland and two-lane blacktops that stretches into infinity and you’re jamming classic rock as loud as it can go. There’s something so mythic, so American about that, and that’s the energy I wanted the show to have.” It would be a clashing of genres. Maybe some newer songs would be okay, but for the most part, it would destroy the atmosphere the music helps create. For example: Imagine how wrong country music would be on NYPD Blue. I would imagine your exposure to the greatest music of all time (in my opinion) is low. If you are serious and really don’t agree with me (actually want Supernatural on MTV) then I challenge you to find a better song to end Episode 2x19 Nightshifter than Renegade by Styx and Carry on My Wayward Son by Kansas for the all finales.
Dear Deanskraken…Ha, I never thought I would address a letter like that! Best screen name ever by the way. Sorry for interrupting your liveblogging of Live Free or Twihard, but I really think that the music makes the show honest. Thank you for your time to read this.
Plays: 1100
When this song plays on the radio at work, I think about baby Dean and his mother singing this to him. It is hard not to cry.
The music. I have listened to the greatest genre of music, awesome classic rock, all of my life. My friends call it ‘your old lady music.’ I cannot explain how grateful I am that Supernatural/Eric Kripke chose this music over the crap produced today.
“For those about to rock, we salute you!”
